The practice of Trauma Sensitive Yoga creates a safe space for individuals to experience sensations in the body and reconnect with themselves. This practice does not include hand on assists by the teacher but does allow each student the opportunity to be curious in their body.
Dance & Movement Therapy
The American Dance Therapy Association as “the psychotherapeutic use of movement as a process which furthers the emotional, cognitive, physical, and social integration of the individual.”
The body and mind are connected and constantly at work with one another. Dance and Movement Therapy looks at movement as a direct expression on one's inner self. The Dance and Movement Therapist focuses on creating a therapeutic relationship through the art of movement which allows the individual to process their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
