EMDR & Trauma Informed Therapies

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.

- EMDRIA

Click here for more information about EMDR.

Embodied Protocol

Our unique Embodied Protocol builds on the phases of EMDR to include techniques developed in Trauma Informed Yoga, Energy Psychology, and other Integrative Treatment Interventions. This protocol is designed to target memories stored in both the body and mind to get to the root experience causing distress.  Sessions for the Embodied EMDR protocol are four hours long once the desensitization and reprocessing phases begin.

EMDR and the Embodied Protocol is offered to individuals who have achieved stability post traumatic experience. We do not offer EMDR to individuals actively abusing substances or have active suicidality resulting in hospitalization.

Individual, Family & Couples Therapy

Individual therapy across the lifespan with a focus on individual goals to improve the client's ability to live life as the best and most authentic version of themselves, assist them with coping with life stressors through psychoeducation, reflection and skill building.  In individual therapy, the therapist will encourage the client to explore core beliefs and values, and how that impacts thoughts and behavior.

Family therapy focuses on helping the family unit to identify needs as a whole. The therapist facilitates exploration around family strengths and psychoeducation around skills needed to overcome barriers preventing the family from functioning more effectively.

Couples therapy (married or unmarried) focuses on exploring dynamics causing distress or dis-ease in the relationship and finding ways to address to increase feelings of being seen, heard and understood.

04

Somatic Movement & Integrative Therapies

Dance & Movement Therapy:  The body and mind are connected and constantly at work with one another.  Dance and Movement Therapy looks at movement as a direct expression on one's inner self.  The Dance and Movement Therapist focuses on creating a therapeutic relationship through the art of movement which allows the individual to process their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Yoga:  The practice of Trauma Sensitive Yoga creates a safe space for individuals to experience sensations in the body and reconnect with themselves.  This practice does not include hand on assists by the teacher but does allow each student the opportunity to be curious in their body.

Other integrative therapies we offer as adjuncts to therapy or as independent sessions include; Reiki.
